It takes big picture and small details for you to achieve your goals.

Decide what you want to do, how you are going to do it, when you are going to do it by, who is going to be responsible for what, how you are going to measure success, how often it needs to be measured and when to review. Easy.

Sometimes a sounding board is all you need, at other times a new perspective, and then there are times you need someone to roll up their sleeves and help work the problem.

One of the hardest things to do in any business is innovation, I had countless experiences in 25 years owning and operating businesses to know that every one is a challenge, which takes careful planning.

What is the benefit? What is the cost (how and to who)? Make something ourselves or outsource something that already exists? How do we explain it to the team? How do we make sure the change sticks? How do we check its done what we planned? How do we achieve feedback loops? It goes on...

There's a lot to think about and getting it wrong can have big consequences. Planning is the key, at the start, in the middle and at the end.
